There are several steps that we can take over the next year to fight this insatiable desire for bigger and bigger government that is supported by too many of our politicians. First, support Tim Eyman's initiative drives by gathering voter signatures for I-711 and I-722, then help to get these measures passed in the November 2000 election. Second, lets make sure that we elect a new governor and a new legislature in November 2000. Every legislator who voted for the Governor's big government budget needs to be replaced by someone who will pledge to work to reduce the size of government. Third, take an active role in educating your friends and neighbors about what is going on in Olympia. You can do this more effectively by joining the Evergreen Freedom Foundation, P.O. Box 552, Olympia, Washington 98507. EFF will send you critical information a couple times every month so that you will have the knowledge you need. Fourth, subscribe to Washington Grassroots E-mail Network at idzrus@earthlink.net (also, see the Tax Strike message thread / topic). This will keep you in touch with others who are working to reduce the size of government in the State of Washington. Fifth, join the Washington State Taxpayer's Strike by holding back your real estate tax for the next three years and by signing up on the web site at http://listen.to/taxstrike. (Also, see our Promote page)

Finally, please send this e-mail to everyone on your e-mail address list who lives in Washington. Make hard copies and give them to everyone you know. Send it out to your mailing list. Post it on bulletin boards. Lets keep this message going around the State and cut off a major source of State revenue until government gets the message and starts reducing in size rather than growing at more than twice the rate of inflation.

Lets pull together and get the job done.
