Voter's Pamphlet Statement - Primary 2005 home
Effective stewardship requires diligence. I am committed to exploring all options, not simply those that are familiar or comfortable for industry insiders. I have earned a reputation for thorough investigation and comprehensive analysis - ratepayers deserve nothing less. In 1999, I proposed expanding the Alderwood Sewer Comprehensive Plan review to include additional construction approaches. I spearheaded efforts to revitalize the Sno-King Group, a local organization dedicated to programs and legislation improving water and wastewater services in South Snohomish County.
Issues on the horizon include construction of the new wastewater treatment facility at Pickle Point, Brightwater, and contract negotiations with wholesale cities. Citizen concerns about safety and odor control at the treatment plant must be addressed. We are stuck between two County Councils competing over Brightwater and we must protect our interests. And new wholesale agreements must be sustainable - we are in this for the long haul.
I believe I have the experience, the foresight and the desire to serve District ratepayers well. Thanks for your support.
